President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that the international fight against the Daesh terrorist group is becoming more forceful and determined, linking regional stability directly to the eradication of terrorism in neighboring Syria. Vision for a Unified Syria Speaking at a housing ceremony in Aydin province on Saturday, Erdogan asserted, "Once the separatist terrorist threat in northern Syria is completely eliminated, not only the Syrian people but the entire region will find relief." He emphasized that a secure and unified Syria benefits all its communities. He credited President Ahmad Al-Sharaa's leadership and Türkiye's strong support for Syria's rapid recovery after 13.5 years of conflict, noting the return of security as terrorist groups are pushed out. Inclusive Future and Türkiye's Regional Stance Erdogan outlined an inclusive vision for Syria's future, stating that Kurds are becoming full citizens and Turkmens are assuming governance roles. "The winners of a united, whole, and secure Syria will be Arabs, Turkmens, Kurds, Alawites, Druze, Christians, and all other Syrian citizens," he said. He warned against the dangers of ethnic and sectarian polarization, which he said only brings suffering. Erdogan also noted positive sentiments toward Türkiye in Syrian cities like Aleppo and Idlib as a reward for Ankara's principled stance.
