Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan conveyed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's unwavering commitment to Gaza's security stabilization and recovery during his address at the inaugural Board of Peace meeting chaired by President Donald Trump in Washington Thursday. Fidan acknowledged that "after two years of human suffering, a ceasefire in Gaza has been achieved, thanks to President Trump's personal engagement and our collective efforts," while cautioning that "the humanitarian situation remains fragile, and ceasefire violations continue to occur." Türkiye's Comprehensive Support Offer Fidan detailed Türkiye's substantial existing humanitarian assistance to Gaza and outlined Ankara's readiness to expand its contributions across multiple sectors. "We can also contribute meaningfully to the rehabilitation of health and education sectors, as well as the training of the police force. In addition, we are prepared to provide troops to the International Stabilization Force," he stated, underscoring Ankara's willingness to assume operational responsibilities in post-conflict Gaza. Vision for Lasting Peace The foreign minister emphasized that lasting peace requires a two-state solution, expressing Türkiye's commitment to supporting Trump's efforts toward that objective. "Let us work towards that objective for the benefit of all peoples of the region," Fidan concluded, positioning Ankara as a key partner in both immediate stabilization and long-term political resolution efforts while maintaining its principled stance on Palestinian rights.
