Iran: 237 women, over 200 children killed in US-Israeli strikes

Iran announced Friday that 237 women and over 200 children have lost their lives during the past 25 days of US-Israeli military strikes, according to figures released by the government’s Information Center. The head of Iran’s Emergency Organization detailed that casualties include more than 200 individuals under the age of 18, alongside the 237 women killed since the conflict began on February 28. Civilian toll mounts More than 4,000 women and 1,600 minors have been injured since the start of the war, the official added. Six emergency personnel have also been killed while carrying out their duties. The attacks have inflicted severe damage on emergency infrastructure, with one air ambulance helicopter and 35 ambulances destroyed or damaged. Additionally, 49 emergency centers have been hit, six of which were completely destroyed. Regional conflict continues The US and Israel launched their joint air offensive against Iran on February 28, a campaign that has so far claimed over 1,340 lives, including Iran’s then‐supreme leader. Tehran has responded with waves of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting American military assets, causing further casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global aviation and energy markets. Türkiye’s call to protect civilians As the civilian death toll mounts, Türkiye has repeatedly condemned the targeting of non‐combatants and critical infrastructure. Ankara has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and urged the international community to uphold international humanitarian law. Turkish officials have emphasized that women, children, and medical personnel must be protected in any conflict, warning that the continued loss of innocent life will only deepen the region’s suffering and prolong the path to peace.
