Iran says ready for “fair and equitable” nuclear deal, seeks regional stability with Türkiye

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized Tehran’s readiness to engage in a “fair and equitable” nuclear agreement and reiterated that Iran has never sought nuclear weapons, during high-level talks in Ankara on Friday. In a post on social media platform X on Saturday, Araghchi stated that Iran is prepared to embrace a deal that secures the legitimate interests of its people, ensures a “No Nuclear Weapons” commitment, and guarantees the lifting of sanctions. Regional Diplomacy and Turkish Mediation Araghchi expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, describing Ankara’s role as that of a “brotherly” nation offering good offices. He affirmed Iran’s willingness to cooperate with regional countries to safeguard stability and protect the region from “unlawful aggression.” The discussions, which also covered bilateral relations and shared regional concerns, occurred during Araghchi’s one-day visit to Türkiye, reflecting ongoing dialogue between the two neighbors amid heightened regional tensions.
