Israeli forces launched airstrikes and artillery shelling across multiple areas in the Gaza Strip on Friday, the third day of Ramadan, marking the latest violation of the Oct. 10 ceasefire agreement, witnesses told Anadolu. Fighter jets carried out two strikes inside the "Yellow Line" area east of Gaza City's Shujaiya and al-Tuffah neighborhoods. Widespread Attacks Heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles targeted homes and tents sheltering displaced people in the Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City, accompanied by intermittent artillery shelling. In central Gaza, the army conducted large-scale demolitions of buildings and facilities inside the "Yellow Line" east of the Bureij refugee camp, hours after intense gunfire and bulldozing operations near the Abu Ataya roundabout. Heavy gunfire also targeted eastern areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Casualties remain unclear. The "Yellow Line" The "Yellow Line" is a temporary demarcation established under the ceasefire, separating Israeli military deployment areas—approximately 53% of Gaza's eastern territory—from western areas where Palestinian movement is permitted. Israeli operations within this zone constitute violations of the agreement. Ramadan Amid Destruction Palestinians in Gaza observe Ramadan this year amid widespread destruction following Israel's two-year military campaign, which killed over 72,000 people, wounded more than 171,000, and damaged 90% of civilian infrastructure, according to Palestinian sources. Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces have committed hundreds of violations through shelling and gunfire, killing over 600 Palestinians since Oct. 10.
