At least six people were killed and over 25 injured in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon's eastern Bekaa region Friday evening, Lebanese state-run National News Agency reported. The strikes targeted the eastern and western mountain ranges, with explosions reverberating across the area, and Israeli aircraft continued flying over Baalbek skies. Strike Details Three strikes hit the Shaara area at the foothills of the eastern Lebanon mountain range. One attack leveled a building near the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Foundation on the Riyaq–Baalbek highway. Two additional airstrikes struck the plains of Qasr Naba and Tamnine al-Tahta towns, west of Baalbek. The wounded were transported to hospitals across the region. Israeli Claim The Israeli army claimed Hezbollah command centers were the targets. The attacks constitute repeated violations of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement, which has seen hundreds killed and wounded since taking effect. Israel continues to occupy five Lebanese hilltops seized during the latest war, in addition to other Lebanese areas held for decades.
