2026-01-27 - 10:08

Three Palestinians were killed and three others wounded in Israeli attacks in Gaza City on Tuesday, medical sources reported, marking the latest in a series of violations of the ceasefire that took effect on October 10. According to local sources, a 17-year-old boy was killed in a strike near the al-Sanafour intersection in eastern Gaza City, while two others died in a missile attack in the Tuffah neighborhood in the north. Three additional civilians, including a child, were injured by shrapnel from Israeli missiles that hit the al-Sanafour area in the early morning. The Israeli military has continued airstrikes and artillery shelling across the Gaza Strip, with a noticeable escalation reported in the Tuffah neighborhood in recent days. Ceasefire Violation Toll and Background Since the ceasefire began, repeated Israeli military actions have resulted in at least 486 Palestinian fatalities and 1,341 injuries. The ceasefire ended a two-year Israeli military offensive that started on October 8, 2023, which left more than 71,000 Palestinians dead, over 171,000 wounded, and caused widespread destruction to approximately 90% of civilian infrastructure. The United Nations estimates reconstruction costs at around $70 billion.
