Israeli forces detain 9 Palestinians across West Bank, including teenagers

Israeli forces detained at least nine Palestinians in military raids across the occupied West Bank on Monday, the Palestinian Prisoners' Media Office reported. Two teenage boys were arrested in Deir Abu Mashal in the central West Bank. In the northern Nablus governorate, troops detained one Palestinian in Hawara and another in Asira al-Shamaliya after raiding homes. Arrests Across Governorates In the southern Hebron governorate, forces detained one person from the area and another from Fawwar refugee camp following home searches. In Bethlehem governorate, troops detained three young men after entering the town of Tuqu. The office stated daily arrest campaigns continue across the West Bank, targeting various age groups including minors, amid ongoing field escalation and repeated raids that often include home searches and property damage. The Israeli military typically does not disclose reasons, describing them as "security campaigns" against "wanted" individuals. Field Detention Center Separately, Israeli forces raided Yaabad in the northern West Bank, searched several homes, and detained a number of Palestinians, according to local resident Raed Abu Bakr. He said troops entered an event hall and converted it into a field detention and interrogation center. There was no immediate Israeli comment. Ramadan Surge The Palestinian Prisoner Society NGO said Sunday that Israeli forces have detained more than 100 Palestinians since Ramadan began Feb. 18. Palestinian data shows over 9,300 Palestinians currently held, including 66 women and 350 children. Israeli violence has surged in the West Bank since the Gaza war began in October 2023, killing over 1,116 Palestinians, wounding about 11,500, and resulting in roughly 22,000 detentions.
