Radar system suffers major damage in overnight assault Al-Rajhi confirmed that the attacks resulted in “major damage to the airport’s radar system,” though he did not specify the origin of the drones. The assault on Kuwait’s primary aviation hub represents a significant escalation in the ongoing regional hostilities, targeting a critical piece of civilian infrastructure. The strikes come amid heightened tensions across the Gulf, where Iran has previously launched drone and missile attacks targeting US military assets and allied nations. Regional conflict continues to spread For nearly a month, the US and Israel have conducted an air offensive against Iran, which has claimed over 1,340 lives since February 28, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran has responded with waves of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting American military assets, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation. Türkiye has repeatedly warned against the expansion of the conflict into Gulf nations, calling for restraint and emphasizing that attacks on civilian infrastructure threaten regional stability and global energy security.
