The International Strategic Communication Summit (Stratcom Summit) 2026 is set to open Friday in Istanbul, drawing high‐level participants from 38 nations to address the ongoing Middle East war and broader challenges facing the international order. Organized by Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications, the two‐day event will feature Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and National Intelligence Organization President İbrahim Kalın among more than 60 top officials, including 11 ministers from 10 countries. Anadolu serves as the summit’s global communication partner. A gathering of global leaders This year’s theme, “Disruption in the International System: Crises, Narratives, and the Search for Order,” reflects the summit’s focus on structural shifts in global governance, escalating geopolitical tensions, and competing regional approaches to restoring stability. The event will examine not only economic volatility and multilayered crises but also the intensifying competition over global narratives that shape international responses. Strategic communication as a tool for stability Director of Communications Burhanettin Duran emphasized the summit’s broader purpose, stating: “As the Directorate of Communications, our goal is to foster international cooperation and engage collective wisdom by using the power of strategic communication. This summit is not just a meeting; it is a strong declaration of will toward solving global issues.” He added that the event, organized in line with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s vision, aims to develop a common language for global challenges, strengthen dialogue channels, and contribute to building a more just international system. “We wholeheartedly believe that this strong voice rising from Istanbul will contribute to peace and stability in the world,” Duran said. Türkiye’s diplomatic vision on display As Ankara continues to assert its role as a key diplomatic actor amid regional turmoil, the Stratcom Summit underscores Türkiye’s commitment to using strategic communication as a bridge between nations. With the Middle East conflict casting a long shadow over global affairs, Istanbul’s hosting of such a high‐level forum reaffirms Türkiye’s position as a central hub for dialogue and a proponent of peaceful, negotiated solutions to the world’s most pressing crises.
