False claims rejected The Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) issued a statement on Wednesday categorically denying allegations that a new regulation would ease the movement of war vehicles, weapons, ammunition, or military explosives across Turkish territory. The center described such reports as "clear disinformation" designed to mislead the public. Regulatory clarification According to the official statement on the social platform NSosyal, the decree published in the Official Gazette (No. 33199) merely clarifies which authority handles re-export procedures within transit trade. The measure aims to prevent customs delays by streamlining documentation requirements, not to alter Türkiye's existing military transit policies. All procedures still require a conformity document issued by the Trade Ministry following assessments from relevant institutions. No link to regional events The center emphasized that the regulatory update is purely administrative and bears no connection to current regional developments. Türkiye maintains its firm stance on international transit procedures, with all military-related shipments subject to rigorous examination before approval. Officials stressed that claims suggesting otherwise are entirely unfounded and serve no purpose but to create confusion.
