UAE reports six injured, three fires after Iranian missile interception

The United Arab Emirates reported Saturday that six people sustained injuries following the interception of an Iranian ballistic missile, with falling debris causing three separate fires. The Abu Dhabi Media Office stated that the incident occurred when debris landed in the vicinity of the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi after air defense systems successfully intercepted the incoming projectile. Casualties and damage in Abu Dhabi Authorities said the event resulted in three fires, with an additional injury involving a Pakistani national bringing the total number of injured to six, whose conditions ranged from minor to moderate. Competent authorities have brought all three fires under control and are continuing cooling operations at the affected sites. Earlier Saturday, officials had reported five injuries and two fires from the same incident. Regional tensions continue to escalate The attack came hours after the UAE Defense Ministry confirmed it had dealt with “missile and drone attacks” originating from Iran. The strikes mark the latest in a series of Iranian retaliatory actions since the US and Israel launched their joint offensive against Iran on February 28. The conflict has drawn Gulf nations into the crossfire, with Iran targeting countries hosting US military assets. Türkiye has consistently warned against the expansion of hostilities into the Gulf region, calling for restraint and emphasizing that attacks on civilian infrastructure threaten both regional stability and global energy security.
