A 50-year-old woman has died after being stabbed in a busy area of north-west London on Saturday afternoon. Metropolitan Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics were called to Pound Lane in Willesden at around 4 p.m. local time, where they found the victim with multiple stab wounds. Despite emergency treatment, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Arrest and Investigation Police later arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder on Saturday evening. He remains in custody at a north London police station. Authorities stated that the suspect and the victim are believed to have been acquainted. Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford described the location as “a busy part of Willesden” but added that, based on initial inquiries, there is no suggestion of any wider risk to the public. Statement from Police Detective Superintendent Tony Bellis echoed that assessment, stating, “We believe this is an isolated incident, and there is no information to suggest any wider risk to the public.” The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers as the investigation continues.
