Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signaled that subsequent high-stakes talks involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine could be convened in the United States. This development follows a recent round of negotiations held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, which spanned two days and involved senior delegations from the three nations. Face-to-Face Briefing Awaited in Kyiv In a social media update, President Zelenskyy confirmed receiving a preliminary report from his envoys but underscored that the delicate nature of the discussions required an in-person debrief in the Ukrainian capital. "Many issues are too sensitive for a phone call," he stated, highlighting the confidential stakes of the diplomatic dialogue aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. Readiness for Any Viable Peace Format Zelenskyy expressed Ukraine's preparedness to engage in any substantive framework that could advance a durable resolution. "We are ready for any viable format that can genuinely bring peace closer, make it reliable and lasting, and deprive Russia of its appetite for continuing the war," the President remarked. He added that planning for potential future meetings, likely in the U.S., is already underway. A Principle of Denying Aggressor's Gains The Ukrainian leader framed the war's conclusion as a critical precedent for European and global security. He asserted that any settlement must ensure Russia gains no reward from its invasion. "It is vital that this war ends in a way that ensures Russia does not profit from its aggression. This is one of the fundamental principles for restoring and guaranteeing real security," Zelenskyy concluded, setting a firm condition for peace efforts that the international community, including Türkiye which has positioned itself as a key mediator, continues to monitor closely.
