Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed Thursday that the fourth round of trilateral peace talks involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States will "most likely" convene in Abu Dhabi in early March, following discussions with Kyiv's negotiating team and American envoys. In his evening video address, Zelenskyy stated that he spoke with chief negotiator Rustem Umerov, lawmaker Davyd Arakhamia, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner after their Geneva meeting, noting increased readiness for the next trilateral format. Negotiation Objectives and Progress Zelenskyy emphasized the imperative to "finalize everything that has been achieved for real security guarantees" and prepare a meeting at the level of presidents, arguing this format can resolve key issues. Umerov reported that Geneva talks paid particular attention to the economic track and long-term support mechanisms, with detailed review of Ukraine's recovery document. "It was agreed that our teams will continue working on further detailing the document—in particular regarding future reconstruction and the investment plan," Umerov stated on social media. Previous Rounds and Future Plans A new round is being prepared as teams work on finalizing "security parameters, economic decisions, and agreed positions" that should form the basis for further arrangements. "The objective is to make the next trilateral meeting involving the United States and Russia as substantive as possible," Umerov added. The first two rounds of talks took place in Abu Dhabi on January 23-24 and February 4-5, followed by the third round in Geneva on February 17-18. Russian officials have not yet commented on the announced timeline.
